From June 1 to June 22 2006 my friend Horst and I spent our summer holidays in Sunny Beach. We stayed at 'Sun Palace' hotel. This time my story is divided into 2 parts. First, I’m going to tell you about the journey, the hotel, the staff, Snezha and about the opened beer-house of the 'Mercury' hotel. Of course you are going to see and a lot of new photos.

Do you know this anecdote? - After a checkup has been made, the tax-collector asks the owner of the pub: 'You don’t lie, you don’t hide any taxes. You always pay on time and you have never asked for a grace. What kind of game do you play with us?'

Our situation was similar: we got the hotel that we had booked (now it is 3:3), the flight wasn’t postponed and the arrival as well as the departure was in smooth water. We had almost no wait at all.

We stayed at the Sun Palace hotel in Sunny Beach. You can find here a full description of the hotel, accompanied with many photos.

We met Snezha in 2004 in 'Mercury' beer-house. We made a really good friendship during our two holidays in 2005. She was in Germany for a few days in December and visited me in Delich. From time to time we keep in touch through smses. That is how I knew that she was no longer working at the famous beer- house 'Mercury', but in a restaurant in Burgas.

Of course we went to visit her in Burgas. We were there twice. The first time was during Snezha’s day off. On that day she showed us the town and the Sea Garden

During our second stay in Burgas we went to see Snezha at her working place in the ‘Royal’ restaurant. This restaurant is placed next to the walkway and I heartly recommend it.

We spent much of our time in the beer-house this year as well. After all we chose the 'Sun Palace' hotel in the first place because it is right next to 'Mercury'. Of course we cannot book this hotel from Germany.

Stefan, from the forum for Phossy’s holidays, had said that there were some construction works in our beer-house. I was all on edge and I was worried about what was going to turn out from that. But nothing, in fact. Unfortunately it was closed during the first week. Then it was opened and we met some acquaintances. We already knew the bartender Toshko and Mario and Stoyan from the kitchen. And we knew the owner and his family, of course.

Actually that was new:

This building should be ready next year. Upstairs is going to be lodging. The kitchen and the bar are going to be placed downstairs. The wooden house is going to be destroyed.

No, you are not at the wrong place. Even though Mini was not working in the beer-house since 2005, we met her unexpectedly there again. The mutual happiness was big. Now Mini works as a distributor.
